Doug lost 164 pounds

Doug Hamilton came to our New Life Weekend in Carlisle, PA in March, 2007 to attend our Lose it For Life track.  Since then, he's lost 164 pounds!  He went from 374 pounds to 210 pounds in 15 months.  And not because of a diet, but because he learned about his "it" and has taken steps to deal with it.  Seeing his success, his two sisters also attended and one has lost 60 pounds, and the other 25 pounds.

He recently told Steve Arterburn during an interview, "In January 2007 I was overweight and approaching my 50th birthday.  I decided I had to do something.  I called in to New Life and the New Life weekend was recommended for me.  My thought was, 'I wasn't born yesterday . . . How could that work?'  I attended and opened up during the small group time.  Now the guys in my group are like family.  I felt like we had been to war together.  I am still connecting with some in my group and recently attended one of their weddings.

"I was encouraged in the Lord through Steve and the small groups.  I know that God didn't forget me.  I am hopeful.  I learned that it is not just about what you eat and how much you exercise.

"I don't snore anymore, no more blood pressure medicine, and I have more energy than I could ever remember having.  This is my way of living from here on out."
