His father was an absusive controlling man that was the Pastor of their Church. My husband has spent years controlling his temper. I have seen him lose control and beat a mans face in when the man stole from someone. He goes to Church weekly but only sees what people do wrong. He is now verbally abusing me and our children. I have been trying to get him to come to a weekend but so far he will not. With Gods help I know he can be the kind man I once knew. Thank You...

I'm sorry that I didn't see your comment until today. With only a few minutes to speak on stage, I couldn't really explain all of the problems that came from a troubled childhood. I've had an ongoing bout with depression for my entire adult life, and with God's help I am healing day by day. It has not been easy for me...its been 3 months, but I can say that I am more alive and filled with joy than ever, and I have hope again. I would strongly suggest to your husband that he follow my path: have him contact New Life to get the name of a Christian psychologist in your area, and if possible, attend a New Life Weekend. No doubt that he suffers inside in many ways, and probably doesn't even realize how much hurt he has hidden within. With professional Christian therapy, he can heal and become whole for the first time, as I am on that journey. I will keep you, your husband, and your family in my prayers. May God bring healing to your family, in name of Jesus, Amen!
